I've finished one of the semi-identical birthday albums. Well, the album base, that is. Which would have been a good thing - in theory. Only that when everything was firmly glued on, I realized that the pages - every single one of them - were half a centimetre wider than the cover and therefore hung out from the album. I don't know what I've done wrong. I thought I was following the tutorial religiously. This never happened to me before; of course, I never used this particular binding technology before. I should have paid closer attention to the measurements, but everything was given in inches and it gave me a headache, so I simply made the pages as the paper sheets allowed. I didn't realize that the cover ought to be wider, and I still don't understand why. *gnashes teeth*

Well, that can't be helped now. I tried to trim the pages, but of course I didn't manage to do it by hand properly, so the outer edge of each page is crooked. I'll try to glue on paper slips that would make them look straight, but I'm not sure it will work. *le sigh* At least the pages of the second book are not glued in yet, so I can put them into my paper cutter tool and (hopefully) produce straight edges. *fingers crossed*

This entry was originally supposed to be about the importance of LJ for keeping what's still left of my sanity, but that will have to wait a day or too. I'm too upset right now for philosophical musings. Sorry, folks.

Yep, it's annoying like hell, but I hope I can do some damage control.

Sending sympathy and hugs to you my dear.
It's so frustrating and discouraging to discover something like this at this point of the project. I'm glad you will be able to rescue the second book's pages.
Hang in there. Onward!

I've performed cosmetic surgery on the first book, too; it still shows the old scars, but looks moderately better now. *sigh*

Your crafts are adorable... and whoever gets them will love them:) I 'm glad you were able to rescue the first one. I have a feeling you are the only one who notices those scars, isn't that the way it seems to go when we make something that doesn't turn out as perfectly as we planned!

I'm afraid anyone who doesn't see that the pages have... err... wavy edges has a serious eye problem. ;))

Ach! I've had that happen a few times in the past with various projects. I understand your frustration. I hope you manage to callifudge it all to work.
