It seems that the heat wave has indeed broken, at least temporarily, which is a relief. It means I'll be able to use an actual blanket today instead of the threadbare beech towel I was using during the last two weeks or so. Phew! I hope it will last for a few days, so that we can recuperate a bit.

I had a fairly busy day again. Starting with going to Telekom's customer service to renew my contract, because the old one had finally run our after 15 or so years. They simply stopped offering that package. I chose the absolute minimum, since I basically keep my mobile so that other people can reach me, should I not be at home (which is rare enough in these days), otherwise we both use he landline. Under these circumstances I wouldn't really need mobile internet, now would I? *g*

On my way home I did some more shopping (including a visit to the Lindt shop, haha!), and then I finished the three mini pillow cases (around 17cm by 12cm each) I started yesterday. Take that, Louise! I did it without you! So, that's another project out of my hair. Next up: some more finger puppets for the second songbook.

By then I was fairly drained, so we ate the leftover Panang fried chicken with Tütensuppe that Mum volunteered to make, and then I collapsed in front of the telly and later with my geriatric laptop to play some solitaire.

Some more telly and a long, lovely phone chat with my friend Evie later it is evening already. And the middle of the week. I can't stop being baffled how swiftly time flies by.

It is such a relief — as long as it will last.

We reactivated the duvets Saturday evening, and hubby has been using an extra blanket for his feet since then. I am definitely not ready to sleep with the windows closed- it's not yet late autumn, but it almost feels so.

Hooray for the cooler weather!
We are cooled off too. But back to the 90's F this weekend, topping off at 96F, a bit over 35C.
Still very miniscule amount of rain.

We did get some decent rain on Monday and a tiny bit on Tuesday, but now it's dry again. At least my friend Evie was glad she didn't have to water the garden by hand.

Despite me complaining about our hit and miss hot weather, it has still been uncomfortably hot here at night. So I have been using just an empty continental quilt cover. The last three nights I have added the bedspread, so it looks like over all temps are falling into autumn.

Yep, this was the first night I could use a regular (thin) blanket again.
