Which included in the order below:

Right in the morning, when I had planned to go to the supermarket. It started and stopped in ten-minute intervals for at least three hours. I gave up on the supermarket and groused about the fact that we couldn't air the flat now that it was slightly cooler. Not for a while anyway.

Since shopping seemed out of the question, I decided to start making pillow cases for the fair - for lavender and cherry pit pillows. I cut out the fabric and stitched it together by hand, with the intention of make the final sawing with the help of my faithful (or at least I thought faithful) handmaid, Louise (aka the mini sewing machine). Only that Louise chose to go belligerent on me, and after the first pillow case she refused to make regular stitches, producing long, lose threads instead, and started snapping the thread ever twenty seconds or so. After the fourth attempt I gave up. It seems the pillow cases will be entirely hand-stitched, after all. At least they are small ones. *sigh*

After my lost battle with Louise, the weather dried up in record time, and Mum declared she'd like to go for a walk. She suggested that we took the collected paper and plastic waste to the recycling bins. I had a lightbulb moment and suggested to go to the supermarket, but parking her halfway there on a bench at the playground, so she wouldn't have to walk all the way but could spend some time on the fresh air. So that was what we did, and she enjoyed it, even though there were no kiddies on the playground to watch, it being at noon.

On our way out we checked the post box and found a nice gift in it: two German crossword puzzle booklets from [livejournal.com profile] manue7a, who was clever enough to send them as a letter, so that they wouldn't get taxed. Don't I have the kindest online friends on this planet? Thank you so much!

And a visit from the physiotherapist lady, but that's nothing new. So yeah, I had a busy day and even got the food shopping done, despite everything. I'm fairly happy with the results, despite Louise's bad behaviour. I always knew these electric sewing machines weren't my thing.

Louise has been taking lessons from my machine, which broke down right at the start of the pandemic, and is still awaiting repair.

Well, a cheap little electronic tool and a total Luddite aren't a good combination. *sigh*

Glad that you finally got new crossword puzzles. What I do not understand is why you have to pay tax from a parcel sent in EU. Or is this a Hungarian speciality?

Honestly, I have no idea! Of course, I only got parcels from the UK lately, and it might have had something to do with Brexit, but the sums I had to pay were outrageous.
