The frigging heat is bad enough, but now the stink bugs have crawled out of the woodwork again. They love to take sunbaths on white surfaces. Guess what? We've got white blinds, white walls, and direct sunlight all afternoon. So there was hunting season today. Alas, the godawful creatures are fast and can fly, too, but I've killed at least three today, perhaps four if I'm lucky. God, I hate these things!

Other than that, the day was very much like the previous one: I've sewn in another page (two more to go and boy, will I be deliriously happy when this task is finished, it's a real pain in the backside!) and made another little purse. The latter wouldn't be so hard in itself, but it includes Velcro, so not a delight, either.

I cooked lunch for two days: Mary Berry's Panang fried chicken, which is easy to make because one can do most of the work in advance. Like cooking the rice or grating the zucchini. I had grated zucchini in the freezer, so it was easy. Of course, I'll have to fill up my frozen sources now, but that isn't urgent.

It was very hot again, so I did as little as possible. Rested almost two hours around noon, playing solitary and reading fanfic on my geriatric laptop, and then another hour after lunch, so I feel almost human again.

The last bout of athletics starts in fourteen minutes, so I thought I'd make my daily entry in a hurry, just in case. *g*

I've not watched any more of the athletics .... it's been a bit depressing.

After the hammer throw we were basically chanceless, so I could enjoy the show with the calm of the outsiders. *g*

Yupp, the heat clings to the East, while we get all the cold available... Do I even want that much cold.

Temperature distribution is certainly f*cked up, big time.

Hello, I finally managed to log in! A while back LJ arbitrarily decided my password was no longer valid, yet refused to accept changes. Infuriating.
The heat sounds awful and the stink bugs worse! Sounds dreadful. We’re really in the midst of spring here already, so perhaps things will cool for you soon.

God, I hope so! The older I get, the harder it is to bear the heat. And we are used to hot summers... in theory anyway.

I've never encountered stink bugs, but I killed two spiders last night. I tried telling them that it isn't September yet, but it seems they don't want to listen.

Show them no mercy! Your house is your fortress, as we say in Hungarian (of course, it rhymes in Hungarian, so it sounds much better), you are entitled to defend it from eight-legged invaders.

we get stinkbugs inside more in the wintertime. .Annoying! They really are not intelligent. I mean not even by insect standards.

Yeah, otherwise they would have learned that I'm a fearless stinkbug killer.

Oh yuck! (for the stink bugs, rather than the Panang fried chicken!)
