Oh, well...

For the better part of the afternoon I hoped I'd write in the subject line "We Are the Champions" - because for a couple of hours it seemed that our guy would win gold medal in hammer throwing. Well... he ended up on third place. Which isn't bad, but winning would have been even better.:( Athletics is the only sport I can watch, mostly because the aesthetics of it; especially the runners, the hurdle race and the pole jumping are my favourites. Javelin throwing isn't bad, either. And when our athletes win something, that's great. But when it looks like they would win, and in the end they don't, that's really disappointing.:(

In any case, we spent the afternoon in front of the telly, biting our nails. A good thing that I did my crafting in the morning, right after I had taken Mum for a very short walk (since it's ungodly hot again). The front cover of the songbook is now finished, all that's left is to stitch it to Page One. Phew!

Tomorrow is cleaning day again, so all brain functions would go on a holiday. But I hope I'll catch up with life on Tuesday.

Yes, he did. Under any other circumstances I'd have fired him on (I liked him a lot), but not when our guy was in the running, too.

He seemed happy enough about it; it's still a shame. Just like our female athlete in heptathlon who missed third place by one score or so. *sigh*

I find all sport boring and have done from an early age. School gym teachers knew they could always find me at the back of the line, or lurking in a corner.

Same here. But I like to watch skilled athletes do their thing from the comfort of my trusty armchair.
