... in our flat, because I've made plum jam in the morning, using a German version that adds honeycake spices to the usual ingredients. Yum!

I also cooked lunch today: carrot soup and mushroom goulash with pasta. Mum approved of the results very much, so I'm content.

I also finished the last regular page of the baby book. It was a fairly detail-heavy one, with an accordion card that's bound together with a ribbon, so I had to be very careful with it. I was lucky, though, it turned out exactly how I wanted it, so that's good.

After lunch, Mum and I braved the streets again. The weather was pleasant: not too cold and not too warm, and the wind stopped for a while, too. I'm relieved that I could take her out again; she really needs fresh air.

My friend Evie called less than an hour ago. The garden party tomorrow is still a go, unless something happens weather-wise again. I hope it doesn't. I need to get out of the house and so something different badly.

We’ve had crazy strong winds here too; hope that the weather cooperates for you tomorrow.

Thank you, it did. I'll post a report as soon as I get the pictures taken by Erna.

I've never made plum jam, but at least we baked a plum cake last weekend!

Plum jam is yummy. Also, very useful for baking pies and the likes. But a plum cake sounds yummy, too.

Oh dear, I forgot about the plums! I hope husband mine forgets about them also! I think we have jam for three years in the cellar now, and hubby just began to collect the blackberries in our garden (and in son´s, too).

You aren't a jam person, right? Or am I mixing you up with someone else?
Mum is very fond of blackberries, but not the ones you can buy on the market. She says those are too large, too hard and have no flavour at all. So we don't waste our money on them, as they are also outrageously expensive. Only the raspberry prices are worse.

Not a jam person, indeed! I use it for baking and in joghurt, but never on bread and the like. There it has to be cheese. Or ham. Or both... This year is the first one that hubby ponders to buy blackberries. Our home-grown taste awful. Like rotten, though they do look okay. We blame it on the horrific weather...
