My cats are finished
Jul. 15th, 2023 08:26 pmAll six of them. And I've cut out and glued on certain important background pieces for Pages 5 and 6. I'll still have to stitch them on, but it's nice to see what they'll look like when they are finished.
Other than that we had laundry day, started to rearrange the flat for Monday's carpet cleaning - meaning taking all the china into the kitchen, so that the furniture in the living room can be moved - and I made One-Pot Cauliflower pasta for lunch. Which I messed up beyond recognition (I should have trust the measurements in the recipe), but it still tasted heavenly... if one likes cauliflower, that is. We had salted caramel ice cream for afters, which was a delight.
In the afternoon my friend Ilonka called; we had a long conversation, which was very nice. Having worked in the same school for twenty-some years creates a strong bond; plus her twin daughters were in my class. We are also the same age, with only two or three months between us. I'm glad we've stayed in touch, even after our retirement.
So, what else? It's still very hot here, and the news about the demise of an online friend was quite the shock. This is the problem with internet friendships: without live contact, you learn of such things weeks, if not months later. :(
