Disturbing things - read on your own risk.

So-called political culture has just reached a whole new low in our little country. In one of our larger cities, a representative of the town council has been raped. A man, to be accurate. Not that it'd have been less schocking if it'd happened to a woman.

I really don't know what to say - I'm just numb. And not only because the guy is from the party I voted for. I'd be just as numb if it happened to someone from the other side. These people are supposed to be important. Somehow one would imagine that if anyone, they would be safe.

I don't know if the whole thing has any political background or not. But the sad thing is, that the suspicion raises in the first place, said city traditionally being a fortress of the current opposition, while this guy is from one of the current government parties.

Until now, political struggles in this country contained name-calling, virtual backstabbing, dragging each other before court, reporting each other to the Tax Office... that sort of thing. Ugly mud-wrestling, for sure, but no physical assassination. What comes next? Politicians being shot on the street or right inside Parliament?

As I said, there is a 50 per cent chance that the crime was not politically motivated. The sad fact is, however, that nobody would ever believe otherwise.

That is disturbing, poor man. I hope he is recovering as well as can be expected.
