Roaming the town
Jun. 16th, 2023 07:26 pmI was underway a lot today. Starting with the obligatory food run in the morning - two supermarkets, lots of stuff bought and hauled home. Including the first cherries of the year, which were crazy expensive but very yummy.
When I came home, we had breakfast and watched some telly, then I left again. This time for the craft shops, mostly. Starting with the Remo discount craft shop, where they have three types of prices: the lowest ones are for... well, for other shops, I guess, the middle ones for institutions and the highest ones for private customers. Since our school is registered, I could buy my much-needed light blue hard felt for the middle price, which was a big help, as I needed a lot of the stuff, for two identical songbooks as page bases. We're talking about 8 pages, each!
I ten took the tram to the Savoy Park shopping centre, which has a TEDI, a Pepco, a Kik and a Flying Tiger shop, each of which sells craft supplies... to a certain extent. Well, I left Kik out this time, but bought some really cheap plastic beads for my Christmas garlands. They are, as
noadvertising's grandson would call them, "candy-coloured", and I think they will look great with the simple silver tinfoil beads I intend to make the garlands from. I didn't originally plan to add anything to the tinfoil, but they sold these for half-price (= the equivalent of less than a Eurocent), so I just took them.
I also went to the newsagent's for my crossword puzzle books (both German and Hungarian ones) and to the Auchan supermarket, where I bought even more food. I won't have to make another food run till next mid-week, I think. Which is fortunate, as I'll have lots to do at the beginning of the week.
We still had leftover Shepherd's Pie, so all I had to cook was a Tütensuppe, and we watched telly while having lunch... well, planned to anyway. My friend Evie called me in the middle of Richterin Barbara Salesch and we talked almost to the end of the episode, but that's okay. Friends first, crap telly later. *g*
After that, Mum and I went to the florist's next corner to order a funeral bouquet. One of Mum's oldest friends had died a couple of weeks ago (was still a good decade younger than her), and since she can't go to the funeral, I'll have to go for her. That includes picking up her oldest friend first, who happens to live on the other end of the city. Wednesday promises to be exhausting. *sigh*
So, we are both drained at the moment, Mum from the walk that was a tad longer than anything else lately and I from the entire day. Consequently not much else got done today, but that's okay, too. Some days just are like that.

Date: 2023-06-16 06:05 pm (UTC)Today I saw cherries at the shop for the first time this year as well, reading your entry for an odd moment I thought "yes, I saw them, too!". LJ magic- far apart and yet close somehow.
