We old ladies...

Meaning Mum and me. She had really serious pain in her knee for the last three days; so much that she finally gave in and took some painkillers today. Painkillers did their job diligently, and she's back to her normal, daily level of pain. She got so exhausted from all that hurting that slept all afternoon after the cleaning lady left.

I feel better today, but since this was the day of our usual cleaning frenzy, I am fairly tired as well. That's what you get for growing old. *sigh*

I did a tiny bit of crafting today: added some more embellishments to one tag for the baby book and made another one. Not much, but every little bit helps. Tomorrow promises to be another hectic day, but I have high hopes for Wednesday, when I intend to do some quality crafting; perhaps even some baking. I've been wanted to make meathiel's marzipan and pineapple cake for some time, but there was always something more urgent. Mum loves pineapples, though, and after her ordeal she deserves a bit of spoiling, right?

When we were younger, ny husband told my mother that older people would need less sleep than younger ones. Now that we have the age sha had then, hubby is the one who always complains about having slept poorly, and I will doze off at any time if I feel the need. Times change, people change...

Well, yes, and the fact that she gets up at least twice each night to go to the loo results in the permanent lack of proper sleep.

I don't remember what the actual recipe says, but first mix the butter and sugar, then add the marzipan cut in smallish pieces and beat the mix until the marzipan is dissolved. That's the only way you don't end up with marzipan chunks.

Oh, happens that I do that, too! I do not feel thirsty during day, only in the evening!

I usually grate marzipan while it's still frozen — that brings excellent results. I'll try your method, though.

I have to keep a bottle of mineral water next to my bed because I sometimes wake up totally dehydrated. Or at least that's what it feels like. 🤭
