... I've actually rested on the 7th day. Did a tiny bit of writing, started sewing together the cover of the textile book, played Solitaire on my geriatric laptop - nothing else.

We ate leftovers - alas there still will be some available for the day after tomorrow. *shudders* At least Mum likes the cardboard-flavoured zucchini casserole for some unfathomable reason, so we'll suffer through the rests on Tuesday. Tomorrow, though, I'll make asparagus again. Yum!

Addendum: I had to enable comment moderation for my story "Magic Mirror" on AO3. Someone began taking the story apart, telling me at every other chapter why my characterization sucked. Apparently, we see certain charcters differently. But I don't see why should I take such abuse from someone who clearly just wants to force their sight of things on others. I also deleted the comments, BTW. Will do enable moderation for "Arthur's Quest", too, as this person is apparently in the Merlin fandom. *sigh*

Nearly. It was awfully short this year, but we're trying to get as much as we can. ;)

What a jerk, saying shit about your story.

Unfortunately, I've always attracted rude reviewers, which is why I've stopped posting to FF.Net. At least on AO3 one can remove review or moderate them. But it's depressing, really. It's so rare that I'd get any reviews at all, and a good deal of them are such rubbish. :((

Thanks. I'd understand if I were writing crap, but I know I don't, despite my sometimes creative English grammar. But these people don't really care about the actual story, they just see that I have a different view on the characters, therefore I must be "wrong" and need to be "corrected". Why on Earth can't they just hit the Back button when they don't like what they read? That's what I do, and believe me, I stumble upon a lot of things I don't like.

Also: why can't people who supposedly like what they read drop a line of appreciation and encouragement? Anonymous (or signed) kudos are nice, but I some positive feedback would be lovely, too. (I'm not looking at you; you are one of the few who actually do review.)

Omg. I hate critical nitpicky comments. If they’re that concerned about characterisation they should write their own bloody story!
I never know what to say. That kudos button makes me so lazy.

Yes, the kudos button is addictive. I ruefully admit that I use it more often than I review, too, which is quite hypocritical of me. *ducks in shame*

Moderation is a good way to go for people like that. They get the entertainment for free...if it's not to their taste they can move on without any loss.

Some jerks just get off on taking other people's hard work apart. I especially "love" the argument this character would never behave like that!, even if said character actually behaves exactly like that in canon... only that not everyone is willing to admit it.

Oh how annoying about the comments. Deleting the comments is the best thing as otherwise they will keep annoying you.

I did once have someone do something very similar at another site, where you couldn't moderate comments, saying 'that character should be like this, and he shouldn't do that, but instead this should happen ...' and after the third one I answered that the story they were suggesting sounded fascinating, when they wrote it perhaps they could give me the link... Oddly I never heard from them again — but those comments were still there, annoying me, until the site folded.

Yeah, it's the same thing with FF.Net. There were stories I had to take down, just to get rid of such idiotic comments. I'm glad AO3 makes the moderating of comments possible.

How annoying, glad you were able to remove the comments.
