Being lazy
May. 18th, 2023 06:19 pmIt was raining in the morning, so I postponed my short trip to Lidl. There is nothing we'd urgently need right now, and I hope I'll still get some of the things that are on offer tomorrow.
Being a bank holiday or whatnot in Germany, German TV ejected all the usual programmes I wish at daytime, showing idiotic quizzies and boring movies instead. So I used the unexpected free time to work a bit on my textile book cover, to practice knitting, to make pancakes and to work out the plot of a side story I intend to write later to "A Stitch in Time".
Then the insurance agent - the same one whom I had an appointment with on March 10 and who never showed up - called to talk to me about one of my contracts. I wish she had called two days earlier; that would have saved me some money I transferred to the insurance company and that I could have spared otherwise. Ah, well, fortunately it was a small sum; the transfer fee of the bank made up 30% of it, though!
I then solved a few crossword puzzles, talked to my friend Evie on the phone and went to the post box with Mum to give her a bit of exercise. It's still frigging cold over here, although weather forecast promises more pleasant temperatures for the next few days. I hope they're right.

Date: 2023-05-18 04:27 pm (UTC)It´s Ascension Day here, and Germany also has the dreaded Father´s Day, which often ends with a lot of fathers dead drunk...

Date: 2023-05-18 04:33 pm (UTC)I'm just annoyed that every time the TV channels decide to do something "festive", they end up cancelling for the day everything I like to watch. It's bad enough that there isn't any sci-fi to be seen since the end of the RTL Spike channel. At this point I'd even watch bad sci-fi!

Date: 2023-05-18 04:37 pm (UTC)I never noticed! I usually do not watch TV during day, and hubby is a pro finding at least one crime story in the evening!

Date: 2023-05-19 04:02 am (UTC)We had Mother’s Day last weekend. That’s the gardener’s date to plant spring flowering bulbs in the southern hemisphere, but I haven’t been well enough to do all my bulb planting yet. Hopefully the bulbs will still flourish even if they’re planted a few days late!
