For me anyway. *g*

In the morning I've managed to do a bit of crafting, even though it was somewhat chaotic; not a rare occasion in our house. I added the last embellishments to two of the three baby books, which now count as finished - unless I get another idea, which I hopefully won't. I want to be done with this project ASAP.

In the early afternoon my friend Elise (why do I only seem to have friends whose name begins with an E?) came over to fetch her share of the Easter biscuits. Since she's a generous person (plus owns a car, unlike me), she also brought us two six-packs of mineral water, so our needs in that area are covered for the next two weeks or so. Yay! We also had a nice chat, mostly about family and shared friends from the rows of (ex-)colleagues, and she duly admired my ongoing craft projects. *g*

After her, we had a visit from the physiotherapist lady. She's very kind and helpful, and after Mum had finished her exercises, she came with me to Lidl. She has a smartphone (I don't), and on her smartphone she has the Lidl app, with the help of which I could buy our favourite (= cheapest) brand of ginger ale for a reduced price. That helped a lot, as the price of this previously cheap brand has risen by more than 100% during the last two years. It still is the cheaper there is but not quite so cheap anymore. So it was a win.

I know it sounds ridiculous that I'd go such lengths to buy food stuff cheaper while giving out money for craft supplies without a second thought. But I don't see why I should pay more for food when I can pay less. I guess I am and will always remain a Pfennigfuchser. Sorry, no idea what that is called in English.

For the rest of the evening a big GBBO marathon is planned, namely the Celebrity Bake-off and the German version of the same. The German version always takes nearly three hours because they have so many and so long ads in-between, during which I can watch the other one, plus the Canadian and Aussie versions that will be running on a parallel channel. I think I might have a slight obsession here...

You might not believe me, but I have a smartphone but no Lidl app on it! I think a Pfennigfuchser is called penny pincher in English....

Thanks for the help with the expression. :)
As for the Lidl app, my friend Elise doesn't have it, either. She says there's no Lidl in their vicinity, so no need to clutter up her phone.

Well, what's the fun in saving on food if you can't spend the money on other stuff, really?
Besides, I can make very yummy things from the cheapest possible ingredients, so there's no need to buy special foodstuffs. *g*

That word looks like it may translate as 'penny-pincher'. :D

Exactly! I do buy some items that are more expensive, but even there I always look for the best price.
