I had a busy morning.

It started with getting up an hour earlier, so that I can make my first two food runs before breakfast - which was important because we had no bread in the house. Not a simple morsel! So I went to Aldi and Lidl, respectively, buying stuff that was on offer and some that wasn't - and promptly left my precious cucumber, bought for the lowest price in weeks, behind while trying to sort my stuff into two shopping bags in a way that made it possible for me to haul them home. Of course, I only realized it when I was at home already. It was very annoying; one tries to turn around each coin twice, and then makes such a stupid mistake!

In any case, I then helped Mum with her morning ritual, packed the baked goods from yesterday into the tin boxes in which they are supposed to remain until Easter, and we had breakfast. After that I was off again, going to the Savoy Park (mini) shopping centre, to fetch our prescribed medicines, and to visit the craft shops. And the Auchan supermarket. And the newsagent's for my crossword puzzles.

Needless to say that both Auchan and the craft shops (Kik and Tedi, respectively) had stuff on sale, so an ungodly amount of money was spent. But that's why I'm so eager to buy food that's on offer: so that I can save money for craft supplies. *g* So, I'm now the proud owner of some more pretty paper that I absolutely didn't need but, as usual, couldn't resist.

Today, we finally had a proper cooked meal: leftover soup and fried fish with Petersilkartoffeln and some grated cucumber (I still had a small piece that needed to be eaten before wilting on us). Afterwards, Mum and I went for another walk, a slightly longer one than yesterday. Then I talked to H. on the phone, and to my friend Evie, so there was social life to have, too.

In the light of the above, today was a craft-less day, and the writing I did happened last night, so it probably doesn't count. But I pretend that it belongs to this day. ;))

Oh noes @ forgetting the cucumber. That's annoying.

Oops @ the craft supplies. But there's some stuff that just has to be bought, right?

Sorry for you forgetting the cucumber, but are you still able to stomach this vegetable? Hubby and I have given up on it, though we really like the taste.

That was a busy day. Cucumbers are gradually disappearing off my shopping list. I used to be able to buy half a cucumber, but recently the supermarkets will only sell me a full one, which goes slimy before I get three quarters of the way through it. The supermarkets are trying to convince us that there is a cucumber shortage, because growers are unable to afford the heating for their green houses. I am not convinced.

They'd tell the most outrageous lies to justify their horrendous prices.
