Still ambling on
Feb. 9th, 2023 05:40 pm... with the three baby books, that is. Today I decided to re-design the inside of the back covers because I found the original unnecessarily fancy. So I chose to make a simple(?) pocket for each, into which a small booklet titled "Baby Diary" will be put, with 12 pages each, one page for each month of baby's first year. I got the idea from
elwenlj, who once gifted such a lovely little booklet upon me - which I then incorporated into a former baby book titled "The Thing of Beauty", like this:

The new design, while simpler, will be a lot more work-intensive, but I don't mind, as long as it will look pretty. So far, I've finished the page bases and pockets for all three books, only need to add some embellishments to the third one. I'm not entirely happy with the colours, they seem to be a tad too bright in some places, but I have to work with the papers I have. Getting new ones would be way too costly - and a bit complicated - right now. And besides, I have to use up at least some of my supplies before I start hoarding new ones.
Other than that, we had a quiet day. Mum volunteered to cook because she'd wanted some spinach for quite some time (she loves all kinds of veggies while I hate them all with a passion), we watched some telly and had a nap in the afternoon. All in all, a day well spent, I'd say. Tomorrow I'll have to make a big food run, as we're running out of milk and bread and potatoes, plus there will be some really good products for a reduced price in the local supermarkets, so that will take some time.
On a completely different matter, we are both shocked by the results of the earthquake in Turkiye and Syria. Those poor people! As if the pandemic and the world-wide energy crisis wouldn't be bad enough! (Not to mention the war that has been going on for over a year by now.)
