It's a girl!
Jan. 30th, 2023 07:45 pmSo, Mum turned 91 today, and she had lots of lovely phone calls from friends and family - even an e-mail from Germany! We didn't really celebrate - that will be done on Friday, with my colleagues and lots of food, or so I hope. One can never be sure until a particular events is actually taking place in these days. But I'm tentatively optimistic. *g*
I made a food run today, among other things because I needed a baking tin of 22cm diameter for the hummingbird cake I'm planning to bake for the party. My old cake tins are 18cm and 26cm, respectively, so either too small or too large. Of course, I didn't find a 22cm tin; I did find a 21cm, though, so it will be good enough, I guess. I also bought some lactose free products because one of the invited guests has a lactose intolerance - a condition that must be costly, since all lactose free products seem to cost a fortune. But I didn't want her to be left out.
I also worked a bit on the title page of the Hello Kitty booklets: started making the entrance doors and the windows of the "house". Very finickly work; it's a good thing that I don't have an actual deadline for these things. I do have one for the baby book, though, so I should focus on that one instead. But inspiration comes and goes as it wants.
All in all, I'm content with today's achievements and am looking forward to tomorrow, when it will be choir time again. Yay!

Date: 2023-01-30 10:38 pm (UTC)It will be my first attempt at a hummingbird cake, so let's hope I won't mess it up. Mum loves everything with pineapple, which gave me the idea in the first place.

Btw, I received your Christmas card and Christmas tree decoration yesterday. Thank you so much, they are both lovely keepsakes that I will treasure!

Date: 2023-01-31 06:29 pm (UTC)We are both very excited about the party. It seems that two toddlers will be present, unless some illness happens, which I hope won't. So, lots of life and fun in our house, hopefully. *fingers crossed*
