Behold the finished quiet book, bound and seamed and equipped with a clasp:

The seams are a bit crooked as always, but this is the best I can do with cross-grain ribbon by hand. I don't think the kid will mind.

In other news, my digestion is acting up again. *is pissed-off* It's been more than 6 months since my last episode, and I've begun to hope that with the rests of the Covid-vaccine clearing out of my system, the nightly runs - seemingly without any reason - have stopped. Well, I was wrong. 'Nuff said. Back on the dry toast, yogurt, banana, boiled potatoes and apple compote diet for today; hopefully tomorrow everything will be over, as usual. *fingers crossed*

Still, it is very annoying. Especially as I had to give up my wonderful menu plan for the rest of the week. I hate it when my carefully laid plans go down the toilet. Literally, in this particular case. *sigh*

Since I was operating on barely 5 hours of sleep and accordingly felt like death warmed over, not much else was done today. I hate when my body stabs me in the back.

Oh no, I hope your body sorts itself out very soon! The quiet book turned out very lovely, though.

The book looks lovely.

My tummy plays up for no apparent reason now and again too — it is very annoying; I sympathise.

I love the book. They’re works of art and I can see how beneficial they would be for baby’s development. They’re quite wonderful.

I hate it when people ignorantly give me advice on my health concerns, so feel free to ignore th following. I have lived through endless useless advise, teeth grinding, “yes I have tried x solution”, “no y solution is contraindicated by my medication’, “no I don’t think bone broth will fix everything” etc etc etc ad infinitum, but… have you tried yogurt and probiotics? Don’t hate me for the suggestion; sometimes gut flare ups can be caused by an inbalance of the health gut and adjusting the diet to include prebiotics and more probiotics (such as those found in live yogurt cultures) can be efficacious. It sounds woowoo but is actually backed up by solid scientific research, evidence can be found in countless peer-reviewed medical and science journals. But feel free to ignore, personally I HATE it when some well-meaning person thinks they know more than all the specialists I have to see for my chronic illnesses! If only it was that easy…

I ate yogurt every morning, and whenever my stomach troubles, I take probiotics, yes. And I ate bananas each day, too. Not much of either, but about 100 ml Activia yogurt and a quarter of a banana, usually. As I said, I haven't had an episode since last July, and I hope I'll have my peace from them again for a while. (I keep tabs on these things in my paper diary, just to know what's going on with my aging body.)

Thank you for the suggestion. Frankly, I trust people who've tried things themselves more than our doctor who couldn't care less for her patients.

Such an exciting cover. So many things to interest little fingers and eyes. I'm glad you got it finished. We must be running in sync. My diverticulitis is playing up too.

These books are so so cute! I think a little bit of crooked part is part of their charm as they are completely hand-made! I've had digestive problems recently, too... I'm so happy that I found some kind of "miraculous" yogurt! it's a biological belgian brand and they have some natural yogurt with specific enzymes. I eat one a day for a week and everything is back to normal!

Yes, it's been my experience that yogurt is very good for digestive problems. I eat it every day.
