Advent, Day 7

Today was baking day again. I made macadamia cookies, almond-and-pistachio biscuits and chocolate-pistachio talers. They all turned out well, and the chocolate-pistachio ones are even very pretty. I'm content with the outcome and up to 13 different sorts to date. I think I'll have about 20 sorts altogether in the end, which proves a heroic act of self-restraint, considering that I made 44 different ones last year. *g*

Accordingly, not much else was done today. Vodafone had the hiccups, so we went without telly or internet for several hours - I think it was nearly five hours. It didn't particularly bother me, as I was baking like a fiend, but Mum sorely missed her soccer games. Poor thing she spent half the morning with me in the kitchen, perched on a not particularly comfortable chair, so that she wouldn't be underfoot.

Now things are - hopefully! - back to normal, and I'm looking forward to waching the GBBO. After a day like this, it's such a delight to watch other people slaving over the hot oven. ;))

That reminds me, I'm making coco mac cake (that's coconut and macadamia) for a Xmas party in several days and I've gotta find macadamia nuts w/no salt for that.
