I've started my Christmas baking today and made the three sorts of cookies that had been planned. As [livejournal.com profile] elwenlj foretold, the flat smelled wonderfully all day. The good thing with the intense smell (and the necessity to lick one's fingers clean time and again) is that by the time you've finished, you don't actually want to eat the end products. We did sample them nonetheless, of course, and as a result the only thing we ate for lunch was leftover soup and a sandwich pro person - because they were not sweet. *g*

As it was also laundry day, crafting fell short today, but I managed to re-watch parts of Ep 5.1 of Primeval to write down the lines of original dialogue I intend to use in the current chapter. So, it was a successful day all around.

When I was at the supermarket yesterday there were only three bags of self raising flour and three bags of plain flour on the shelf. I bought two of each of them.

I have no idea what the shortage of flour was about.

It doesn't abode well for my Christmas baking

I've taken shortages into consideration and started buying one bag of flour and one of sugar at least once a week. I'm well covered with most things by now. I just misremembered the amounts of crystalized ginger I had in the house; I thought there were two or three 100-gram-bags, which would have been enough. Alas, I only have one bag, and that's already been broken, too. *sigh*

*Inhales, deeply* Mmmmmmm. Yummy. I can smell them from here. And now you have reminded me that I should do laundry again today.

Laundry is a necessary evil.

Haha, I can understand that ... when we bake Christmas cookie we don't want to eat anything sweet at all!!! Savoury all the way.

Our government ordered a price limit on eggs — now the supermarkets have drastically raised the prices of dairy products to balance out their losses.
