It's been raining for two days in a row by now. Fortunately, it's mild, easy rain, so no leakage on the balcony - so far. *fingers crossed* Still, the general dark greyness kills the motivation to do anything but the absolute necessity.

So, when there isn't motivation, willpower will have to do. In that context, I've started on the back cover of Dani's quiet book. The original design idea was just a pocket with a zipper; this is a toy to help develop fine motoric skills, after all.

That would have been easy, even though sewing in a zipper is bothersome. But nooo, I just had to get the brilliant idea of having 4 teddy heads above the pocket, with 4 bowties that all could be removed and recombined at will, as they all have different colours. Plus I've had those machine-cut teddy heads and bowties in my stash for years, without knowing what to do with them. I just bought them because they were so darn cute.

Anyway, this seemed to be a good idea and I'm sure it will have a great effect - except for the fact that it will mean a great deal of Velcro work. 32 individual pieces, to be more accurate. My poor fingers! But knowing what a self-punishing fool I am, you can be certain that I will do it, in the end. Oh, and the teddy heads are merely outlines, so I'll have to add 4 pairs of eyes (tiny white felt circles, which I have to cut out by hand as my puncher isn't strong enough for felt, and black beads) to the programme. *groans*

So far, I've sewn in the zipper and am about to stitch the pocket to the page base. The rest (which was supposed to happen in one day originally) will take days. And I mean days, considering that the only time with enough natural light is around 10am in these days. *sigh*

I've also finished two more Christmas tree garlands, made of tinfoil beads, so that project is also over with, which is a relief. And in a last, heroic effort I've typed up what little I'd managed to write during last week. Considering my current writing trauma, that was a great achievement indeed, and I'm patting myself on the shoulder.

Not much else happened in the grey twilight of the day. I made Sauerbraten for two days, and talked to my friend Evie, who's down with a bad cold, on the phone. November can be really depressing sometimes.

Two rainy days here also, but today the sun came out for a short time. Now it is raining again, and we, too, are back to dark days...

Disheartening, isn't it? I'd need at least one sunny hour, so that I could take decent group photos of my 60 Christmas cards for my Pinterest board before they get (hopefully) sold at the charity fair.

As long as there isn't any balcony leakage, I'm willing to make my peace with rain. I'd just need half an hour of sun to take those pictures of my Christmas cards.

Wow, a lot of work. Sounds very cute, though.

Let's hope I can pull it off as planned.
