An unexpected bout of craftiness
Nov. 5th, 2022 09:11 pmOriginally, I planned to do housewife-y things all day. Which, to a certain extent, I did. It was laundry day, plus I cooked (Mary Berry's Panang Fried Chicken, in case anybody is interested), and I made banana bread. Bananas were sold at Aldi for an acceptable price this week, so I used the opportunity.
However, I also bought earlier in the week the Stamperia Classic Christmas scrapbook paper pad. The really big one, with 30cm by 30cm pages. This one:

The rest of the sheets can be viewed here.
It wasn't exactly cheap, but it is so beautiful. Which is probably the reason that I had already bought it last year and happened to forget about it. In any case, I decided to make collage-like Christmas cards. I've been keeping a stack of ready-cut cards someone gifted upon me back in the Stone Age; very thick ones with a glossy surface and a yellow frame on 3 sides. In other words: not very useful. Perfect for collage cards, though, so I dug them out (miraculously remembering where they had been buried) and made 6 cards already. Inscriptions and small embellishments might come yet, but I decided to make the cards themselves first.
The quiet book project (Dani's transportation book) is also making headway. The background for the "Funny train" page is basically done, and I've started on the train itself. I'm still of two minds about the sliding mechanism (especially because of a small mistake I managed to make), but one way or another, the train will move. *adopts determined look*
