Meaning me and everything that has to do with crafting. Or baking, as it is the case right now.
As every weekend, I've studied the flyers of Aldi and Lidl for the next week, to see what do they have on sale. Noting save for bananas this time, but... Lidl has a new, Christmas-themed catalogue (a bit pretentious to call a 20-page flyer a catalogue, though) that includes all sorts of baking tools. Many, many lovely baking tools, from roll pins through baking tins to cookie cutters and stamping tools. Fortunately, I've got most of them already, but there are some that I don't, and I have the sneaking suspicion that I'll be buying my own Christmas gifts, very soon. *sigh*
In other news, we've got relatively mild weather, with cloudy skies; so cloudy that it's basically half-dark all day. The only time one can do anything without artificial light is the morning, so I was doing my crafting at that time. Half the Velcro work is done, and I've even moved on to the removable letters (which, naturally, also work with Velcro - what else?). One letter is completed, three more to go, several fingertips seriously ruined. I've also sewn on the press buttons for the decorative little hearts (and the hearts themselves), so I hope to finish the page in about two days. *ruined fingers crossed*
We didn't cook today. I was still frustrated about the last two days' cooking mishaps, so we ate leftover soup with sandwiches. I just couldn't be arsed to face another culinary failure. But tomorrow there'll be Topfenknödel. There's half a (small) jar of raspberry jam that needs to be used up as topping, since it's way too sweet to eat it with toast.
As far as social life is concerned, I talked to my friend Evie on the phone today, which is always lovely. I've learned to value my phone since the whole Covid misery started.
Oh, and before I forget: Happy Birthday,
thesmallhobbit! I hope you had a lovely day! Have a virtual slice of red velvet cake:
