Trapped by sales again

I've made a big shopping trip in the morning. Spent considerably more money than originally planned, because a great lot of things - some of them non-perishable ones - were on sale. But at least I won't have to buy any food for nearly a week or so. Save for the Spekulatius biscuits the price of which will be seriously reduced at Aldi, starting on Sunday.

Not much else happened. I was tired for the rest of the day, watched some telly and talked to my friend Evie. That was it.

Oh man yeah, with the end of the month coming and having to brace for a new round of price hikes with the new month, it's a good opportunity to get sales where you can. I need to finally make myself go shopping tomorrow, too.

I'm studying the sales flyers of Aldi, Lidl and Auchan each week and adjust my shopping habits according to what is reduced in any given period. *sigh*

Yes, it is a bit startling when we get it all home and think "we didn't mean to spend all that!" but in the long run, money will be saved, I hope :)

Definitely! And I wasn't too proud to go to customer service and complain when the cashier machine failed to give me the price reduction on the rolls. It wasn't a particularly big sum, but money is money, and I've learned to abandon false modesty when it comes to prices.

I find that there are a lot of errors on behalf of the cashiers now, when it comes to price reductions. Maybe that´s the new company policy here!

I am fortunate to live in a place where I can get my groceries delivered. It stops me going into town and spending way too much money on stuff I don't really need.

Seems lately that what is on sale is never what I want or need, and when they do put staples on sale, they sell out way too quickly and are not re-stocked for days. I am beginning to dread trips to the grocery.
