Really, there isn't! Today I slept roughly 40 minutes longer than usual because I was utterly exhausted from yesterday's trials, and as a result, the whole day just went down the river like nothing. Even though the physiotherapist lady cancelled the appointment because of a cold she didn't want to give Mum, the morning and the early afternoon was over before I could realize it. (I only wish the choir-mate who came to practice with a running nose and a cough would have been so considerate! I tried to stay as far from her as possible, but there won't be any cuddling with Mum for a few days, until I can be sure I haven't caught it. Some people, really...)

I did a tiny bit of (tedious, boring) crafting in front of the telly and went to the shops before choir practice because we needed washing powder and the likes and near school there's a Chinese shop where prices still are somewhat bearable. I won't even try guessing for how long yet.

We fried the fish I bought yesterday for lunch, with parsley potatoes and leftover soup. It all took about half an hour, and Mum actually made the potatoes, so I can't even blame cooking for time running away from me. *sigh*

At least Mum's hand seems to have miraculously recovered since yesterday. I have no idea what it might have been, but I hope it's done with now.

When I lived in Leeds, way back in the 1970's, there was a little Chinese supermarket down a back street near my office. I used to love exploring in there. I once discovered tinned snake.

There is also a brand of Chinese or Korean schnapps that has an entire snake in the bottle! *shudders*

Those here have very much adapted to the population's basic needs, but yeah, sometimes there are interesting things.

I miss the ethnic supermarkets I had easy access to in Mannheim. There's nothing like that way out here.

Glad your Mum is better. Hope you don't catch your choir-mates cold and are able to get some rest.
