... but no picture yet, as the iPad mini is still at the neighbour's. I wonder when I'll get it back and whether it can be fixed at all or I'll have to buy a new one. I've already resigned to the latter, I'd just like to know which is the case and act accordingly. I don't have a smartphone, my laptop is nearly 20 years old and still runs (well, hobbles) on XP, which means only one of 20 or so websites allow it to connect (and certainly no mailing ones), so currently the desktop PC is my only connection to the Internet. And I can't make pictures with the desktop PC, obviously. Grrr!

Other than that, it was a quiet day. We slept marginally longer, Mum made carrot soup and I made Topfenknödel with apple sauce, which was yummy. The heating ran last night and this morning on an extremely low level (except in the study, where the radiator was acting up again and the pipe ice cold), but it's off again. Thermostat apparently decided that it's warm outside because we have bright sunshine. Thermostat unfortunately doesn't realize that we also have quite strong winds that cause the temperatures drop like who - or, at least, that's what it feels like. So I'm back to having a warm blanket over my knees while working at the PC.

The next craft project promises to be the Christmas-themed quiet book. It doesn't have an intended recipient yet, I just want to try out a few nice patterns that I saw on Pinterest and YouTube, respectively. Yesterday I already bought cross-grain ribbons in red, so the first step has already been made. *g*

A Christmas-themed quiet book- such a one will be perfect for little ones, to shorten the time before Christmas! The cardboard books you get in the shops are boring!

Although, in second count, it might be "just" 17 or 18 years old yet. I know I already had it back in 2007, but I'm not sure how much earlier had it entered my life.

I have been trying to avoid central heating. My fleece blanket, slanket https://www.theslanket.com and hot water bottle have been seeing some use over the past week as temperatures drop.

Our central heating is literally central. It comes from a biiiig company, and they decide when they turn it on. The slanket appears to be a great idea; I've got a poncho for really cold days, but it only reaches to the knees.
