A day of crafts and music

I've started working on the little felt snowmen today and made very good progress. All 10 of them have now hats with colourful ribbons, eyes, carrot noses and buttons (made of tiny black beads). Tomorrow I'll make the brooms and perhaps the hangings, too, and during the rest of the week I might be able to finish them.

I talked to our deputy director today, and she said that the pre-Christmas charity fair that's got cancelled for two consecutive (Covid) years, is planned to take place this year... if nothing else happens, of course. I'm considering to make a batch of reindeers, too. Yes, I know I'm crazy, thank you very much.

Choir practice was a delight, as always. Adrienne has brought her little son, and we had great fun with the (not-quite-two-year-old) boy. He definitely has a sense for music and rhythm. I also met a few other (ex-)colleagues, who aren't in the choir but are working in the afternoon shift. It was great to see people again, I feel 100% better than I did last week.

Also, Happy Birthday, manue7a! I don't know why LJ fails to send me an alert - fortunately, I saw other birthday post and so I've managed to be on time. I hope you had a lovely day!

I'd have missed it, too, had I not seen meathiel's post. I can't understand why I get birthday alerts for some people and none for other. I never change those settings... at least I don't think I have.

Some don't have the day and month listed on their profile and I finally figured out that LJ doesn't send notifications if that's the case. I guess because that would mean making it public without the person's consent.

I suppose if the fair does not happen you will at least have a good load of opening stock for next year. Life in the world finally seems to be returning to normal...except for prices.

We'll see. I like the brooms best, myself. I used paper cord for them and fransed out one end (sorry, I don't know how to say "ausfransen" in English), which is fussy work, but I love the results.

Well, we still can't be sure that it will actually take place, but I'm hopeful.
