My 3 Kings felts

... are finally done.



Granted, they are a tad primitive, but I'm satisfied with the outcome. Now I'm onto the penguins. I was cutting out little penguin feet for an hour or so, and then I taped together the first 3 creche scenes... I won't be bored for a long time to come yet.

Other than that I managed to get the pistachios and the macadamia nuts at Aldi; they were on sale, for exactly the sum that was the normal price last December. But at least they weren't more expensive. In these days that counts as good luck, right? Now I'm well equipped for the next Christmas baking. The nuts will keep, especially in the fridge or freezer, wherever I find some storage space for them (their best before date is December 2023), and I'm sure their price will go up astronomically by Christmas. If they will be available at all.

Otherwise I had a lazy early afternoon. Getting up around 6am is very hard for me, so I decided that relaxing a bit would be helpful. *g*

I'd go for spring, but that hasn't happened for a very long time. Our climate is apparently no longer spring-friendly.

They are indeed. Which is why I'm stocking up with baking ingredients as long as I can still afford them.

At least nuts will 'conform' to whatever odd space you have in your freezer. I remember you having a lot of problems getting nuts last year, to do your Christmas baking, so it's wise to get them now. Talking of 'wise', your wise men are so intricate, and yet you got them done so quickly. I am impressed.

Oh, they are not so complicated, really. For example, their eyes are simply painted on with felt-tip pens and the "jewels" on their crones are drops of sparkly glue. *g*

Good that you could stock up on nuts. I've noticed that too, that many things "on sale" cost as much as they did pre-inflation.

It seems a definite tendency right now. And we are still happy that they "only" cost as much as they did last year.

I'm not planning for such an insane baking orgy this year, but I will be baking, despite the prices! I'm thinking of just a few different sorts, but those will be fancy... if I manage to get them right.
