Got up early to be able to take a shower before the water would be turned off. Helped Mum with her morning obulations. Cooked tomato soup and mashed potatoes while temperatures were still relatively low.

Then I attacked the next batch of my Christmas felts: the shepherd and his sheep. I was quite industrious, too: one shepherd is completely done, the 9 others have their headband, their beard and their sheep sewn on. Tomorrow I'm planning to do the staffs and the sheep heads, and the day after the hanging and the complete stitching together. *fingers crossed*

In the afternoon we had a visit from the physiotherapist lady. While she worked with Mum, I switched on the oven to give this recipe a try, as zucchinis were reduced in price last time I made a food run.

Well... the things are yummy, but in my oven they'll definitely need a much longer cooking time. Also, I might have to slice them thinner. But all in all, a good recipe.

Afterwards, I talked to Adrienne on the phone, solved some crossword puzzles and even managed to write a little. I might die from sleep deprivation before the Week of Woes is over, but the roughly two hours I have to get up earlier with each day definitely help with my workload.

I am not fond of courgettes, except if they are fried in a bit of oil then marinated in olive oil, Italian herbs and lots of garlic...

As they don't really have a taste of their own, I usually use them grated, as filler stuff for the stir-fry. But this recipe, with the oil, garlic, salt and pepper marinade, plus the grated cheese on top, is really yummy.

The zucchini sound yummy, I'll have to try that if we get swamped with the stuff from the garden again.

If your oven can get hotter than 200°C I'm sure it will be roasted in ten minutes. Fifteen at best. Alas, mine isn't hot enough, so I'll have to slice them much thinner next time.

I'd need an oven that can get heated over 200°C to make the dish properly, though.

Make sure your oven is very hot, though, and add to the cooking time mentioned in the recipe. Ours turned out barely edible.

Thanks, I'll remember. My oven tends to be on the lame side, so I probably will have to crank it up higher.

And perhaps slice the things thinner.

That too, I thought the slices were a bit thick for such a water-heavy fruit. I'll get some Parmesan on our grocery run this Friday and give it a try. :)

It is, but 10 minutes cooking time isn't enough — not in my oven anyway.

The recipe looks interesting — I am not a big fan of courgettes/zucchini as they seem to me to be a lot more water than substance, but done that way would be better I think.

Just make sure that they are properly cooked through. Ours remained hard and in the end we couldn't even eat them.
