I got up at stupid o'clock because Aldi promised to have apricots for a reduced price today - well, they hadn't! Grrr! But since I was already there I bought several other things that were reduced... and a few that weren't. Nothing unnecessary, though (Mum gave me the nod afterwards), and that way I've saved myself the food run tomorrow or the day after.

Since I've created myself such a handsome amount of spare time by cutting my sleep short, I attacked the Santa felts today. And I was victorious, too! 10 Santas are now all but finished. All I need to do is to sew on the hangings and stitch the front and back panels together. As I didn't have a template to them, I've created a very simple design that allowed me to glue on the small parts instead of sewing them on; since they aren't meant as gifts for small kids I could afford that. I also decided to use simple cotton wool for the beards that were then glued on, too. I think they'll look nice enough. A bit basic but nice.

I also wrote about a page or so; still Ianto and Tosh sitting in the train, talking. But at least I've figured out where they'll find the safety copies for the program that operates the particle weapon of Torchwood One (the one they shot the Sycorax off the skies). Telling more would mean spoilers, so I won't. You'll have to read the story when it's finished. ;))

Other than that, I cooked lunch and watched Mary Berry's Quick Cooking and The Best Home Cook with Mum. Today will be an earlier night than usual because the water woes are going to re-start tomorrow, so we'll have to get up early to wash and shower. *sigh*

There were times when I couldn't imagine it myself. But you get used to it quickly.

You know, they never did mention that weapon again, did they?

No, they didn't. But again, they were never that big on continuity... to put it mildly.

I intended to get up at eight this morning...and only made it for nine-fifteen. Oh well. The Met Office says it's going to be a scorcher of a day, so I'm staying indoors, with all the doors and windows shut.

I particularly loved it when I was still working and Mum still able to go to church in person. That way I didn't have to ruin Saturday (my only duty-free day) with shopping; I went to Aldi while Mum attended to Mass and fetched her on my way back. The next best Aldi is only a tram stop and a half from our house, and the church is right on midway, at the end of our street, so it was a very practical arrangement.
