No woes today

... because the water pipe guys don't work on the weekend, of course. So we took it easy. I slept until 9am, which hasn't happened for a year and a half and was glorious. Then I worked on my Christmas felt project practically all day, as I didn't have to cook - long live the leftovers!

I decided to make the Three Kings first, and I've made considerable headway. All basic parts are cut out and taped on, and I've even sewn on the crowns of the old king. There will be some more embellishments later, but the pattern is basically done. Now I can turn to the Santas and try to work out a design that is easy and pretty. We'll see. I think I'm working on this project so eagerly because that way I can postpone the binding of the quiet book, which is a stressful things to do. For me, at least.

I even squeezed in a bit of writing, so it was a really good day.

As mentioned above, I can't type and managed to hit the key 4 instead of the key 9. I actually slept long and well, and it was wonderful. Or it would have been, if the dratted planes hadn't woke Mum up. She could have slept until 10 while I was taking a shower, filling the washing machine and putting away yesterday's already washed dishes. But it is hard to fall back to sleep when Judgement Day is apparently marching up on the skies.

Nowadays I have learned to follow your method when it comes to sewing project, doing it in small increments. I used to sit down and try to do it all in one day, but now I take my time and find it much less stressful.

Ugh I sympathize! We live about 30 km away from Ramstein Air Base, so we often have fighter planes roaring over our heads. At least today is Sunday and they usually keep it a bit more piano then.
