I did some actual writing today! Not very much, perhaps a quarter of a scene, but this is the most I was able to do for this particular story in the last, oh, two years or so! I just hope the tendency will continue. *fingers crossed*

Also, the apricot jam I made the day before yesterday (meant for the Topfenknödel but not done in time) is absolutely fantastic! We had some for breakfast to the toasted Hefezopf slices... it was heaven! Of course, I'm inordinately fond of apricot jam, so when I manage to get really good one I'm ecstatic... which was the case today.

Not much else happened. I cut out some more parts to the nativity felts, started working on the dreaded book binding and took Mum out for a walk again. All in all, a thoroughly successful day.

I make jam for hubby, though I do not eat it. Maybe at Christmas I will steal some from him for baking... Thumbs up for your writing progress!

Thanks. I love apricot jam and always feel sorry when I have to use it up for baking. *g*

I wish I could try your apricot jam! I'm not sure I've ever had apricot jam at all. Is there a good brand I could buy if I want to try it?

Frankly, I have no idea. I always go for the cheapest version. However, these Dr Oetker jam fix packages — there are some specifically for apricots — make the whole process child's play.

I can't handle raw apricots though since I'm so allergic to pit fruit that if I touched them, my hands would get red and swell up hugely. But I can eat the jam since heat kills the enzymes I'm allergic to. Always something, haha!

That is a shame about being allergic to pit fruit; they are sooo yummy! But better safe than sorry, I guess. And jam is delicious, too; not to mention you can keep it for a long time, which is a definite advantage.

I know, I used to be able to eat pit fruit when I was a child and gorged myself on peaches, cherries and nectarines in the summer. But then came a severe allergy to those and some nuts, so severe I have to keep an EpiPen at home just in case I do end up eating something like that by mistake. But - I'm grateful I'm allergic to things I can avoid if I'm careful, not to more common things like gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, etc.

Me, too. Unfortunately, they are insanely expensive this year — just like about everything else.
