I was seriously hoping for a lazy day. I even gave up any ideas of going to the Chinese drug store where I usually buy detergents, toilet paper and the likes, in lieu of taking it easy.

Instead, I had to take down, fold and put away the dried laundry, to cook for two days, since tomorrow we won't have water from 8am to 5pm, I've finished seaming the mermaid page and accompanied Mum to her spontaneous cardio exercises, that is, climbing the steps to build up her strength. By then, it was 16:30 and I felt like a wrung-out rag. Getting older isn't as much fun as people would want to make you believe!

In the meantime, our national currency has hit another historic low - one Euro is now worth 407 HUF! Small wonder that prices are skyrocketing over here. *sigh*

Also, on a more crafty matter, I'm considering make a few of these for Christmas. They look easy enough, and good for utilizing any felt rests that may fall off from bigger projects.

And also a few of these ones, for the same purpose. My quiet book is nearly done, and Christmas is closer (craft-wise) than one would believe.

I do love those little nativity ornaments, they are lovely.

And yes, this growing old isn't for wimps.

They are cute, aren't they? And the fact that I can use up some of my scraps is an added bonus.

Here prices are skyrocketing, too. Today telephone companies announced, that prices for mbile tariffs would get massively raised- uh, why? Do they want a slice of the cake, too?

That is very likely, I'm afraid.

These people who used to run my apt bldg a long time ago who really disliked me and were trying to get me kicked out used to cut the water off right before they would do inspections. You try cleaning a place with no water.

Now that was really mean-spirited! Fortunately, we actually own our flat, so at least don't have to fear such things.

Wow, and if you're on a fixed income those currency changes have to really hurt. :(
Very cute Christmas thing.

I get a very small portion of my pension from Germany, since I lived and worked there for two years. So that small portion is getting more and more the weaker our currency becomes, since the Germans send it in Euro and I get it changed into Forints. Of course, that helps very little with the exploding prices, since it's the equivalent of less than 57 Euro a month.

The first link does not open for me, but I love the little nativity figures in the second one. I hear you re Christmas knocking on the door. I need to make a lot more greetings cards if I'm going to give boxes of them as presents.

Gah, don't even remind me of the greeting cards! I've been planning to make some for last Christmas already, but I always have so many irons in the fire — plus the entire household, of course. *sigh*

And this year I'll have to make at least one Advent calendar, since a new recipient is about to be born in September...

Oh they are cute!

Prices everywhere are ridiculous — the war in Ukraine, the covid delays and the floods here (and there were more upstate this past weekend!) have just made some fruit and veges impossible. I so miss tomatoes but I am NOT paying $15/kilo for poor quality... thank goodness for tins!

And then some people/firms/supermarket chains just use all these tragedies as an excuse to raise prices, whether it is justified or not.
