I woke up to a thunderstorm today, even though it was short and the following rain mild and slow, thank goodness. No balcony leakage. At least the weather cooled down a bit in the morning, when I was finally taking the duvet to the seamstress... for about an hour or two. When I was finished with the food shopping afterwards, it was very hot again.

So we didn't do much tomorrow. Since we are still struggling with our digestion, it was boiled potatoes for lunch (which we both like), with leftover apple compote (which we also like), and toast, yogurt, a banana and black coffee for breakfast. Not much cooking, thankfully.

We were vegetating in front of the telly, but that's a good thing, as I can sew best when the telly is running in the background, so I finished seaming the previously botched-up deep sea page. That means half the book is done. I've a vague idea about the design of the back cover, and I think I'll make the umbrella page for counting activity, which means there's only one page left - the one with the lacing activity - for which I still need an idea. I'm content with my progress.

Not much else is happening at the moment. We are in survival mode until the weather cools down a bit... perhaps next week or the one after...

Good luck getting through the heat! Here it is cool enough I'm wearing a sweater and woolen socks in the house, though outside it is warm.

Have you looked into one of these small portable AC units? I was surprised to discover they are down to starting about 100 euros here now. No idea how effective they are, or how much electricity they eat, though

AC is a killer on the eyes... at least on mine. Besides, we're used to it, and the outrageously expensive insulation work does help a little.

Last night it was 5 degrees here. Really, it was heaven. I LOVE winter. Thick socks and warm scarves, hot chocolate and miso soup! But we’re already past the solstice and that means SUMMER IS COMING. Oh well, I’ll love the cool while it lasts….

What a shame your tummy is playing up — I hope it is better today.
