Quarktaschen

... with freeze-dried strawberries. That's what I baked today. They are ugly but yummy. And I made a dish with cauliflower, fried chicken breast stripes and bechamel sauce, with grated cheese on top, baked in the oven. Again, very yummy. Not as ugly as the Quarktaschen, so I was moderately successful.

I also started working on the binding of the quiet books and had promptly undo the spine of the first one. I've sewn it on again and decided to stop for today. If the things refuse to cooperate, I won't force things. At least I've figured out (again) how to do the binding. I always forget the method between two quiet books, but since I do this once a year (or even more rarely), that is to be expected.

I was lazy for the rest of the day. Watched TV, read fanfic... that sort of thing. Motivation isn't something I've got a lot of lately.

There is a Chinese dish I make with ground pork, eggs, tofu and bean thread noodles which looks awful but tastes absolutely yummy so I know what you mean.

Sometimes you just have to ignore the looks in lieu of the taste. Still, I won't post a pic of today's product. I intended them to look good as well... I just failed. *g*

Looks are not really important to taste, no matter how many times we read that we eat with our eyes! And anything with pastry, quark, and strawberries is going to taste good. As is anything that is a variation on cauliflower cheese, for that matter. All in all I would have been very happy to eat in your house!
