At least in our house. Starting with the fact that on Sundays I have to get up almost an hour earlier because Mum attends to Mass via telly and needs to be made pretty in time.

Then I have to take down the dried clothes (since Saturday is always laundry day) and wash my hair - I always do that on Sundays. It has established so during my working years. And since I've got very short, very thin hair, I was told by a hairdresser years ago not to wash it more often than once a week, or else it will become horribly greasy. Fine with me; and besides, sleeping once and sweating it through always makes it look exactly as it does on Day #6.

While Mum was "at church" (virtually), I made myself ready and started working on the deep sea page until breakfast. I've made surprisingly good progress and actually finished both the second octopus and the stitching together of the corresponding pages. Next step: the seaming, and then the dreaded binding of the books.

After breakfast I lazed around a bit, and then relocated to the kitchen. I've peeled and pre-cooked the asparagus for tomorrow (I'm planning to make an asparagus and ham quiche, which promises to be very yummy, although a bit work-heavy), improvised a vegetable soup from asparagus and cauliflower water and made Topfenknödel. Originally I had planned to make the asparagus quiche today, so that I wouldn't have to cook tomorrow, when the bi-weekly cleaning frenzy takes place, but I didn't dare to eat something made with cream just yet. My stomach is usually upset for one day only, but I'm always trying to ease into normal eating a bit carefully.

After midday meal I was properly drained and grateful that Mum insists on doing the washing-up. Instead, I took out the vacuum cleaner and emptied it, readying it for tomorrow. It's something I utterly hate to do, so I always wait till the very last moment, which is idiotic, as it takes me 10 minutes, tops. But I do so hate doing it. *sigh*

When all this was dealt with, I finally gathered my courage and attacked the heroic task of renew the Kaspersky on my geriatric laptop, too. It takes about two or three clicks, but the first time I failed - because I copied the activating code falsely. Yeah, I know, I'm an idiot. This time, however, I succeeded, and afterwards read a bit of fanfic and played a bit of solitaire on the old lady. The fun thing is, the laptop's Windows XP is the only one that can make the pasziansz.hu website work - all the newer operations systems refuse to do so. Therefore I keep the good old relic in honour, because I love those games!

Having done all this, I've now relocated to my desktop PC for more fanfic and games before Mary Berry's Country House Secrets starts on TV Paprika. I do love that programme so much! And then, around midnight, I'm going to watch Britain's Best Home Cook. Yes, my tastes are a bit one-sided, I know. *g*

And then, around midnight...I will be fast asleep, clutching my pillow and definitely not watching anything. I still do not know when the transition from night owl to morning person happened! But I, too, love to watch cooking shows!

There is so little else worth watching!

Well, the laptop is only very, very limitedly functioning, but that, too, is better than nothing, right?

Mmm, asparagus. I love asparagus quiche! I watched YouTube yesterday about growing asparagus. Turns out it is a perennial vegetable ans can be productive for up to 20 years. I might grow some in a huge pot. Can you imagine freshly harvested asparagus? Mmmmm.

Lol. As long as you don't judge me on my Chinese costume drama watching you'll get no judgement from me on your cookery obsession. :D

Actually, I prefer sci-fi series and fantasy. But since I've lost my satellite TV, where one of the German channels was constantly re-running old sci-fi series, and RTL Spike ceased to exist, there aren't any I could watch anymore. I always re-watched old Start Trek, Babylon 5 and Stargate seasons when I could, but I can't do it, so the only thing left is cooking and baking shows.

I really hope your stomach is okay! Often dairy products will give me heartburn, I just don't tolerate them well anymore. But for cooking I often use a vegan cream that doesn't do my stomach any harm, and actually I can't even tell the difference in taste and texture.

I don't know what brings it on from time to time. It isn't so as if I'd eat different things in those times. *is frustrated*

Reading your journal always makes me hungry, lol. So does watching all the cooking shows. Wish they would inspire me they way they do others. It all looks delicious, I am just too lazy to try.

True, they tend to make horribly complicated things that require ingredients I have no way to get.
