I'm still trying to recover from the three-week-long computer-related stress. My nerves are so frayed, I react much stronger to Mum's age-related oddities than I ought to. At least I manage to react in the inside, without hurting her needlessly.

But at least I managed to do some crafting today. I'm working on the last page of the twin quiet books and am currently trying to reproduce this page:

I've first made it a few years ago for Theo, the recipient of my very first quiet book. The new ones will be quite similar, only with slightly different colours and I've used flower-shaped beads instead of sequins. I hope they'll turn out well - those flower-shaped beads look great indeed and are surprisingly easy to work with. I'll try to buy some more at Kik on Monday, but with my luck they might be already sold out. *sigh*

Other than that I didn't do much today. Dealt with the weekly laundry (although Mum helped a bit). Printed out some notes for the next choir practice, now that I can actually get into Google Drive, watched some Blaulicht Report while stitching, solved some crossword puzzles, since I was lucky enough to find the newest 100 Seiten Bastei Rätselheft yesterday at the newsagent's... and not much else. We still had some leftovers, so I didn't even have to cook. Tomorrow is asparagus day, however! Yum!

I can't for the life of me envision what the cord/ribbon does. Or is it just part of the deco, is the squid rope skipping?

This particular page is for practicing counting and lacing. The kid can count the arms of the octopus (or the suckers on each arm) and practice putting the cord through the hooks — it supports the development of fine motor abilities.

Oooh I see. I thought maybe something would move if you pulled the cord, but it didn't make sense.

No, it really wouldn't for this design.

Oh how I crave asparagus! But I have to wait until the 15th when Chris will be back to drive to the supermarket. I hope you enjoy yours. :)

Thank you, we certainly have. I made a stir-fry, with stripes of chicken breast, rice, cherry tomatoes and various spices, it was yummy and it also means that I won't have to cook tomorrow, either. I always cook enough for at least two days, but I don't always succeed. *g*

Thanks, but the truth is I'm just an enthusiastic amateur who can't even handle a sewing machine properly. Which is why I have to hand-sew most of the stuff.

Thank you. It is a cute one, and I hope the new ones will be like that, too.

Thanks. Actually, I like the recently finished octopuses even better; will post a pic when the pages are done.

Yay, it's asparagus season again! Ilove your octopus. But when I watched the video, I noticed the loose buttons, or whatever it is this fish has in his belly. Hopefully this book is made for older children, because loose buttons and young toddlers don't get along well!

Don't worry, the buttons are under the tulle and serve the purpose to help with fine motorics. The kids of my goddaughter couldn't take them out, either; I always stitch down everything double strong, for safety reasons. Klein-Emma loves to feed the fish or to push the buttons and crystals around on this page:

for the last two years, and they're still safely inside. :)
