Behold my first, tentative attempt to make Danishes - from ready-made puff pastry I bought at Lidl yesterday, with vanilla custard creme and fresh strawberries.



We also had asparagus for the first time this year - by some unexpected stroke of luck I got them for half-price at Lidl and improvised a dish with fried chicken breast pieces, boiled potatoes and bechamel sauce, all that sprinkled with grated cheese and baked in the oven. It was yummy. From the water in which the asparagus boiled I made a light soup, so it was a nice lunch today.

I also did a lot of crafting. One of the Eeyore pages is now completely seamed, and I've even started on the other one. I hope to finish that one tomorrow, or the day after, and then I can attack either the deep sea or the outline recognition page. *fingers crossed*

And now I'm waiting for my neighbour, the IT guy, to renew my antivirus programme and help me sign back in to Gmail on Firefox, too. *fingers doubly crossed*

I want Danishes now! Custard creme is custard mixed with butter? Might clash with my diet, but who cares, does not work anyway!

Eigentlich war es nur Vanillepudding aus der Tüte, mit einem Schuß Eierlikör verfeinert. Ich bin nicht immer sicher wie man Kochbegriffe ins Englische übersetzt.

You just gave me an idea what I could make with the chicken pieces I have. No asparagus but new potatoes and some veggies in the oven ... sounds like an idea.
(I'm alone this week as my parents are travelling and I have to use up food stuffs!)

It's always good to have some frozen pastry. With the ready-made one it's easy play to make Danishes.

He didn't come, after all. Probably got back too late for that. I can understand that, but OTOH in 3 more days I won't have a working antivirus programme anymore, and that's slightly scary. Also, I need help with gmail, too, preferably yesterday, before IE goes out of business, so that I won't be able to get into my account at all!
