I've made this shabby chic journal a couple of years ago, just for the fun of it, always hoping that one day I'll find someone who can really appreciate it. It isn't a style many young people would find appealing, being a bit too girly, but I didn't give up hope.

And now the journal has found its new home. The daughter of my friend and fellow choir member, Eenie, is finishing high school, which is a big issue over here. And she likes girlie things (I've checked it with her mother in advance, just to be sure), so I happily gifted the journal on her. She's called ten minutes ago, to thank me, and to tell me how much she liked it. I'm really happy the journal is in good hands, as it was (a great deal of) labour of love. ;))

Other than that, choir practice was fantastic. We were only ten people, and that includes our choir leader and the lady who plays the piano to some of our pieces, in a large classroom, with all windows open. I hope everything will be well. They have practiced for months by now, but as long as Covid was running wild at school I didn't dare to partake. It seems to have ebbed down a bit, so I risked it. No smoochies with Mum for a couple of days, though, just to be on the safe side.

But being able to sing again was wonderfully liberating.

How lovely that you found a new home for the shabby chic journal. I bet both it and its new recipient are delighted. XD

She sounded happy enough with it. :)
Welcome back, by the way. It has been too long...

I'm glad you were able to practice with the choir — what a joy to be able to sing!

Indeed, it is! I've always been in some choir on another, this is such an internal part of my life, and I missed it greatly.

Yay for going back to choir practice ... sounds as safe as you can be!
Unfortunately at the concert last night maybe 5% of the people were wearing masks ... argh!

Some people are so frigging irresponsible!

Sometimes a choir being really small can be an advantage, though. I don't dare to go to the Oldies, where 30-35 people between the ages of 70 and 90 are singing from the top of their lungs, but I thought I'd risk to go to this one.

I cannot remember the last time I sang...other than caterwalling along with some Chinese TV theme song.

I tend to sing something religious — usually the actual antiphon — while making the bed. *g*
