Daylight saving time

Oh, how I hate thee! Most of our electronic devices are outdated and won't switch the clock an hour further; some of them even adamantly refuse to let the time be updated. I had a bad night, due to last evening's firework idiocy, and having to get up an hour earlier didn't help.

Other than that, today's bullet list consisted of the following activities:
- putting away the laundry
- cooking (successful)
- baking (disastrous)
- crafts (with unexpected progress).

All in all, rather busy. But we like it that way. Now if I could only sleep through this night, it would be grand!

Oh no! What went wrong with the baking?

I have been baking today, baked two cakes and still have to put the cookies in the oven (dough is waiting in the fridge for me to get to it)

Ich habe ein neues Blitzbiskuit-Rezept ausprobiert, und der Teig ist nicht aufgegangen. Die geschmolzene Butter war wohl noch warm und die Eier sind fast geronnen. Der Biskuit ist flach geblieben wie ein Pfannekuchen. Ich habe ihn in Streifen geschnitten und wir werden diese wie Kekse essen — oder zum Trifle verarbeiten.

Ich beginne das große Osterbacken nächste Woche. Was für Kekse hast Du gebacken?

Ich habe Zitronenplätzchen gebacken.

Wirklich ärgerlich, dass der Biskuit nichts geworden ist!

Ich habe so oft geschworen, Oma's Biskuitrezept treu zu bleiben. Das gelingt immer, angenommen ich wiege die Zutaten korrekt. Aber nein, meine Abenteuerlust überkommt mich immer wieder. *grrrr*

I haven't changed my clocks yet, thank goodness most do it themselves, even the one in my car.

The video/DVD player used to change its clocks automatically, too, but half a year ago it suddenly refused to do so. And my mobile only does so when it gets switched off — which is risky as I might not be able to switch it on again. We are surrounded by dinosaurs.

I know what you mean! I think a good night's sleep will re-set my energy level, but it often takes more than one day to get my energy back. Oh, gosh. This is making me yawn! LOL

I was talking to a friend in Nevada today and in the future, they won't have to change their clocks anymore. Maybe this will set a precedent.

I keep clocks to a minimum in my house. I have just three, none of which are on a piece of equipment, so they're all in my control. Like phones, I have somewhat of an aversion to timepieces.

The traditional timepieces are the easier part. When your DVD player refuses to switch to summer time and you don't know how to fix it, now that is annoying.

I love daylight savings time, extra daylight in the evenings. As far as clocks, my computers and phone set themselves. I manually set the oven and microwave clock. Sometimes, I remember to set other clocks around the house or in my car, other times, I just leave them and in two time change rounds, they will be right again.
