* I went to the bank;
* I made another food run and spent more money than I feared I would - despite 80% of the stuff I bought being on sale;
* I found the newest issue of my favourite German crossword puzzle book at the newspaper agent's;
* I bought more lining material for future quiet books just in case;
* I found some of our favourite coffee brand in a Chinese store considerably cheaper than in the supermarket and was happy to snatch it up;
* I went to school to fetch the eggsies - the eggsies hadn't arrived yet, but at least my friend Evie gave me a lift home;
* I made unexpectedly good progress with the quiet book front pages.

In case someone hasn't realized, this is me, counting my blessings.

Meh @ the food being so expensive, though.

I have to admit I haven't noticed a lot of food stuff getting more expensive yet as we tend to make meal plans around what is on offer.
However, butter used to be 1,29€ on offer in December and it's now 1,59€ on offer ... that's quite a difference.

Oh, yes! A single bread roll went up from 22 to 27 and then to 33 Ft within months. The cheapest sort of margarine went from 159 to 183 Ft since January, and so on. Our gvt. in their eternal wisdom, ordered a price stop for flour, sugar, milk, oil and chicken meat until Mai 1. Can you imagine how the prices will explode once the price stop is over?

Fruit and vegetables are the worst. You can't even really hoard them, and the prices are rising steadily.

Gas and electricity- prices exploding. Fruits and vegetables- the same. I fueled my car only three-quarter full today- 80 Euros! If I would not need to pick up Cassian or drag the trailer for the family (not I, hubby does it with my car) and do occasional visits to number three and four I´d sell that thing. We have been turned into cash cows without knowing!

Yeah, I know. Our currency has reached a never-before-seen value low. As if it hadn't been weak enough already...

Yep, prices for everything are again on the rise (do NOT talk to me about petrol, which is pricey here at the best of times and right now... god, I'm glad I don't work out of town anymore)

Yay for coffeee being cheap, and quiet books!

Congrats on your good day. Prices are soaring here too, especially gas, but that makes everything else rise.
