Originally, I planned to make a food run today but just couldn't bring up the energy. So I washed my hair and worked on the front page bases of the two quiet books. I made good progress: the page bases are finished, and I've even prepared some of the embellishments. Those are still going to need lots of detail work, but I've selected the colours I want to use and such things.

I also did some writing, only to tear up almost the whole page. It didn't go as I wanted it to go. Sometimes that can even be good, but this wasn't one of those cases. Ah, well.

No actual cooking done today; we're both on our usual toast, boiled potatoes and Apfelkompott diet. Stress doesn't become our digestion, it seems. Let's hope that it will be over in a day or two as it is its wont. *fingers crossed*

My friend Eenie called an hour or so ago. She's also our choir secretary and sent us the list of pieces we are supposed to practice, just in case a concert will become possible in June or so. Fortunately, most of them are pieces I've already sung with the choir (I'm a founding member, after all), so while I'm still not going to choir practice - yet! - I might be able to participate in that theoretical concert. Something to look forward to.

Would be nice if you were be able to have a concert in summer. Singing is the voice of hapiness...

Apparently here choirs are allowed to practice again. Without masks ... with Covid numbers going up again! 🙄

Some brave souls kept up practicing since the beginning of February, but I thought it better not to go.

I hope you're feeling better soon. With everything going on it's hard to stay free of stress. What a horrible mess.

Good luck moving on with the writing. It's hard to have to tear up so much of what you've written, it's frustrating and defeating, but I saw that you were at least able to salvage a little bit of it. Hang in there! It's a complex, difficult part your're working on, and I wish you best of luck getting it written.

A choir concert is a lovely, happy thing to look forward to! It's been a long time since you've gone to choir practice — will it be safe, Covid-wise, to be able to go soon?

Here, the pandemic has been lowered to an endemic (whatever that means, I don't know, but it is less threatening than pandemic) and mask mandates have been dropped, as illness and hospitalizations in our area have lessened quite a lot. If things continue on this path, the health department says we possibly could have a return to pre-Covid normality by summer. That would be wonderful.

The authorities show themselves very optimistic concerning Covid, too, and mask mandate shave been dropped in some areas. Whether it is the smart thing to do when we have still several thousand new infections and between 70 and 100 casualties every day (in a country with only 11 million inhabitants) is still doubtful, though.
