Still tired

Mostly because I don't sleep well nowadays. I've got trouble to fall asleep because the fear that I can blend out during the day reappears at bedtime with a vengeance. When I finally manage to fall asleep, I do sleep through most of the night, even though I have odd dreams, but falling asleep has become really hard.

Anyway, today was laundry day, as every Saturday, and I did some cooking and baking - just simple things, but even those cost time. Housework always does; not that I mind being occupied. It is positively therapeutic.

And the good part is that I got all of it done before lunch, so I had the afternoon for myself. Since there isn't anything worth watching on the telly during the weekend, I got some writing done, and I even cut up the lining for all 20 quiet book pages and cut out the teddy bears for two basically identical pages. So I call this a successful day.

It really is a successful day! And being productive keeping thoughts of the war at bay makes it all the more of a relief to keep busy, I'm sure.

I had planned on spending this afternoon writing, too, I finally wanted to get some words in for Pico, but that didn't happen. Gonna see about at least squeezing in some editing before dinner..

Haha ... why do you have laundry day on a special day? You're a pensioner ...
I mean I do laundry at the weekend but I have little time during the week.

Saturday as laundry day has been firmly established, back when we were both working; since we didn't want to do slave labour on Sunday. By now we've grown so used to it that changing the day would require more energy than it would be worth. *g*

Avoiding thoughts about war is not easy these days. I have seen so many cars coming from Ukraine on the motorway today!

We don't get to see anything directly — we live in a Wohnblock deep in one of the outer districts — but subconsciously one is always way too aware of what's going on.

It’s a terrible situation. Trying to maintain sanity is commendable. And you got the afternoon free!
I don’t have a routine. Everything shifts around what my health is on any given day. Am I dizzy? Can I walk? Did I sleep? It drives me a little crazy.

That does sound like a fun afternoon. At least you got some mental down time, even if you did not get much sleep later. I love to get lost in crafting. Doing stuff in my home has taken that place of late but I need to start some craft again.

Crafting is very therapeutic. And easier to do in such times than writing.
