... und zweitens als man denkt.

The extremely talkative insurance lady (and why do we attract so many people with verbal diarrhoea?) cancelled her pre-scheduled visit today. Apparently, many of her clients who have invested beyond the eastern border are panicking and need her to hold their delicate little hands. So she called (half an hour before she'd be due) and we re-scheduled for tomorrow.

What a good luck that I've organized all outside activities for today, so that I could have tomorrow for in-house things - NOT!

But at least I went to school to order my monthly eggsies and met a lot of dear friends in the 15 minutes or so I spent there. And then I went to a little shop for sewing utensils and spent a hair-raising amount of money on felt and other things I'll need for the quiet books that are due around mid-September. I've just realized the true loss of the little craft shop in the Savoy Park shopping centre - I had to pay twice as much for felt than I'd have paid there, had they not closed! Still, I'm now prepared to work on two parallel quiet books for the next five to six months or so.

Since I got the early afternoon hours unexpectedly free I heroically cut out all 20 felt page bases to the required 18cm by 18 cm rectangles and arranged everything (including the cut-offs) so that they'll be ready when I start work... probably next Tuesday, because Monday will be cleaning day again, so I won't be able to do much on the creative side afterwards.

So yeah. Tomorrow will be fairly wasted. People who say in twelve sentences what could have been said in five words drive me up the walls. But sometimes one just has to clench one's teeth and get through.

Oh man yeah, that is going to be grueling. All the more annoying since it should have been done already.

In times of stress spending money on non-essentials can be quite therapeutic.

Insurance people tend to run their mouth a lot, I don't know if the job attracts people like that or if it makes them become like that.

A bit of both, I guess.

As someone who always has difficulty starting any conversation, talkative people are good...to an extent. As a natural introvert, I also find talkative people tiring.

Trust me: you'd have hours of rest after a session with her.

I don't like it when my schedule gets interrupted or changed, throws things all out of kilter. Sorry your favorite craft store closed, but glad you are still able to find what you need.

Several craft stores closed — probably due to Covid — unfortunately, the best ones. *sigh*
I wish I could learn this online shopping thing, but I'm afraid that won't happen any time soon.
