Since I haven't spammed you folks for way too long, below are the first pictures of the project with the somewhat undeserved name "The Thing of Beauty".

The front cover:

The inside of the front cover and [livejournal.com profile] elwenlj's beautiful booklet that will be incorporated into the baby book. There will be pics from the inside of the booklet with the marble effect later. The inside of the front cover is a bit simple, I'm not entirely happy with it, but the card was so cute I wanted to use it.

Page #1 with the ominous, lopsided window card. You can see how much the cardboard broke while I was trying to cut out he window panes. Inside, there's a simple white photo mat for a baby pic.

And finally Page #2 with the Baby Statistics tag that I might exchange for a different one later because I don't find the pattern matching the rest of the page:

Other than that it was baking day today, for my (hopefully coming) visitors tomorrow. I made cheesy buns, a banana bread and Turkish flatbreads, the latter just to use up the leftover yeast.

Then my (ex-)colleague Erica dropped by to collect the cat pillow for her 1-year-old grandson. Then we had a visit from the physiotherapist. Then I had nice phone calls with H. (Little Emma's grandmother) and my friend Evie.

So, it was a very busy day, in the best sense of the word.

Keeping my fingers crossed that everything will go well with tomorrow´s visiting day! I love banana bread, unfortunately I am the only one in the family...

That is really bad when the family doesn't share one's preferences. I can't be grateful enough that Mum and I have similar tastes — except when it comes to spinach!

Count one more guest in, at least in mind. Just in case you have leftovers :D

That sounds like a fun day. I like your 'distressed' window frame.

Well, cutting it out was distressing indeed, but the colour is actually the original one of the cardstock.

I like the baby book, not sure why you are disappointed in it? Glad you had a relaxing day today — rest up for the eventful but fun day tomorrow :0)

It is not bad. It is just not how I wanted it.
