My sponge cake turned out disastrous today. Which is surprising, as it was Grandma's idiot proof recipe that always works. I might have messed up the measuring of ingredients or whatnot. In any case, it was very annoying. So I cut the frigging cake into tiny cubes, made the quark creme filling that was meant for the cake, opened a can of halved peaches and made trifle. It looked pretty enough and was yummy, so lunch was saved!

Not much else happened today, save that I finally brought up the energy to type up the meagre 1.5 pages I had written for Chapter 7 of "Kindred Spirits" yesterday. Or was it the day before? I can't even remember. Time goes by in a bizarre way, both too quickly and sometimes stretching unto infinity...

There are those days when things go wrong which usually work perfectly fine! But trifle isn“t a bad choice, I love trifle!

Me, too. This isn't the first time it saved my ruined bakes.

I like trifle even more than cake, to be honest.

the first time I tried to make chocolate truffles they came out too runny so I used them as ice cream sauce.

You make me feel so much better about my cookery skills when you confess to your fails.

Always nice when you can salvage mistakes.
