After yesterday's crafting mishap I decided to do something about the case and dug out my pigment pads - a turquoise and a pink one - and with the help of a cut-up sponge coloured the pages of the poor little booklet.

I've managed to create a nice marble effect with lots of pale turquoise and just a touch of pink; this stamping technology is good for such things. I also took out my crayons and gave green and silver outlines to the ballpoint pen script, so the whole thing looks rather pretty now. As for the page ruined by the felt-tip pen, I glued a lovely picture over the damage, so that it isn't visible anymore.

I'm satisfied with the outcome, even though something that was supposed to be done in about twenty minutes (meaning copying the poem) now took me the better part of the day. It was really, really finicky work.

I also tried to hunt down the sung version of the original, Hungarian poem, but couldn't find the version I remember. Either there are several different versions, or I remember the one that exists differently. Originally, I wanted to post a link, but I really don't like the version I found, so...

Other than that, I finally cooked a proper lunch, and in the afternoon I wrestled the muse into obedience and finished Chapter 6 of "Kindred Spirits". It has been posted to my AO3 account, as well as to the [livejournal.com profile] hiddenrealms LJ community.

So, this was a busy and successful day. I think I've earned to watch the GBBO tonight. *g*

You know, I've been wondering why are they called distressing inks.

So am I! It's such a pretty booklet, and it came all the way from England, from [livejournal.com profile] elwenlj, it would have been a waste to ruin it. More so as I had to pay a hefty tax for such a tiny package! Frigging Brexit!
