Exhausted

So, after almost two weeks of peace the digestion problems are back, but this time it's my fault... at least partially. Having eaten some of the leftover waffles yesterday - even though they had an unusually strong yeast smell - perhaps wasn't the best idea. Let's just say that I spent the better part of the night on the loo and didn't get to sleep any longer than three hours in one go and leave it by that.

Consequently I felt like death warmed over all day, and being back on apple kompott and toast diet didn't help. Ah, well, I'll know better next time, right? It's just annoying that I have to postpone the cooking plan for the rest of the week and freeze the ingredients until I can actually eat what I cooked. Mary Berry's Panang Chicken Fry was on the menu, with rice, but there will be boiled potatoes instead. *sigh*

On a more positive note, I've sent the cat pillow picture to the future recipients, and the reaction was very positive. Now to see how to get the kitties to them, despite Omicron tearing through the country. *double sigh*

I think the yeast had been open for a tad too long. And waffles don't bake through the same way as buns and the likes do, since you only bake them for a minute or two.

Sorry to hear about your tummy problems. How did we all manage before freezers?

Well, we were younger and had iron stomachs. Or just had to throw out precious food, against our conscience.

Dang, just with waffles? That stinks.

It does. I'll have to switch to waffles made with baking powder — alas, the ones of yeast dough are so much tastier!

Not you, too! I also cannot digest yeast well, pizza for lunch is pretty much okay, pizza in the afternoon means sleepless night ahead. Could it really be our age?

I never had this problem before. It all started roughly a year ago — either age indeed, or the vaccine, or I've caught covid without knowing it and it attacked my digestion... :((

Sorry to hear you are under the weather. Hate it when food that I like makes me sick.
