I've finished the first cat plushie and am fairly content with the way it turned out. Have sewn on the eyes and the nose of the second one and pinned together the necessary parts of all three that are still coming up. You can do a lot of sewing while watching the telly with half an eye; and since our telly has been running all day (the remote is acting up, so we don't dare to switch it off, unless absolutely necessary), I made decent headway.

Concerning social life (or rather the lack of it), I had a nice phone chat with Gaby (whose little son is one of the planned cat plushie recipients), and Mum and I took out the garbage and checked the post box. Woo-hoo!

(*)Later on Ilonka called, another ex-colleague, someone who retired shortly after me. It was really good to hear from her again, especially as her twin daughters were in my class for a couple of years.

Mum asked me to deliver her heartfelt thanks to [livejournal.com profile] manue7a, whose lovely birthday card has just arrived. She was over the Moon - it isn't so that either of us would get snail mail too frequently. Because the bills just don't count. *g*

I'm so glad the card got there and your mom liked it :)

She was so very happy! She took out her magnifying glass and read it several times. Now it's proudly displayed on the sideboard. :)

As long as I do not have to write in Hungarian language I will gladly send cards to you now and then. You will only have to give me your address again. I must have misplaced the envelope of your Easter card (card is safe in my glass cabinet!).

I'll PM it to you again. But only if I'm allowed to reciprocate. :)

As long as we are mostly banned into our homes I think a hand-written card now and then might be better than a post on LJ!

It definitely feels more real. I've got a bunch of hand-made cards that I will happily gift upon people.

I used to get a lot of sewing done whilst watching TV. I can't do that nowadays because I have to read subtitles.

Exactly why I can't watch DVDs and sew at the same time: I need to put on English subtitles to understand spoken English. 😄

Thank you — that she really is. Even though she drives me up the walls sometimes. *g*

I've always loved cards. I think they're nice to have around the house for weeks.
