I overslept a tiny bit today (about 20 minutes), which is always annoying. Those few minutes don't help with feeling tired all the time, which comes from the fact that I can't organize my mornings the way I'd like, but being 20 minutes too late topples the order of my narrow world over. Yes, I'm quite anal retentive that way, I think.

In any case, I managed to squeeze in some crafting; I even finished Page 5 of the baby book by being absolutely ruthless with myself. I told myself I wasn't allowed to leave the desk until it is done - and it worked. This time...

I didn't have to cook today, so I even managed to write some dialogue for "Enterprise - The Maiden Voyage" and figured out how to turn around one of the bad guys to make him... well, still a bad guy, but a reasonable one that knows when to jump off the bandwagon. Or so I hope. It might actually work...

Consequently, I spent the rest of the afternoon with watching telly - the Germans among us would know what I mean when I say that I regularly watch the various incarnations of Auf Streife. Admittedly, not the height of cinematic art, but it helps me to keep up with my German vocabulary, and that's what counts. Of course, the fact that I no longer have my own German channels means that I no longer can do something else while the program is running, and it ruins my decades-old working schedule quite efficiently. *sigh*

Then I helped Mum a bit with doing the books - her eyesight has become fairly poor, so she can't always read afterwards what she's written a couple of days previously, and now it's almost time to watch the German version of the GBBO.

Oh, and Mum got a lovely birthday card from Germany, from H's sister! She was so pleased!

Addendum: I decided to start posting Kindred Spirits to AO3. In case anyone is interested in a Blood Ties-Charmed-Kindred: The Embraced multiple crossover AU.

It´s good that you managed to do some writing! And I am totally with you about sleeping late- you won´t feel better but more hectic even. Then again, twenty minutes of more sleep is not what I´d call sleeping late...

I've been a night owl all my life and a later riser during the last years of my working life since I worked the afternoon shift exclusively. I'd still live like that if I could — but since I have to take care of Mum, it's no longer an option. So I must go through my morning routine rather speedily if I want to have some time left to myself; and the morning hours are the best for writing and crafting, since that's when we have natural light. I don't mean the sunlight in the early afternoon that's so harsh that we have to let the Venetian blinds down...

Some days twenty minutes can make a difference. Being late up seems to put me in a strange mood for the rest of the day.

So very true, on both accounts!
