Being busy

Last night we had some snowfall, but when I got up the walkways were already cleared, so I decided to go a-hunting: to find the necessary ingredients for Mum's enormous (at least that's the plan) birthday cake. And oh wonder of wonders, I actually found everything I needed, and I only had to go to two different shops. Considering that new Covid cases had broken all previous records over here, I consider that a good thing.

I made Shepherd's Pie for lunch - that means I won't have to cook in the next two days. That's especially lucky for Monday, when we'll have our scheduled cleaning frenzy.

In the afternoon I worked a bit on Baby Book #2. The inside binding thingie is now done, which is a relief, and I've more or less made Page #4. There are two tags I still have to make, but the pocket turned out very pretty, and I'm happy with it. I think it's time to make (and post) some photos of the already finished parts, soon, just to show off a bit. Showing off is good for the psyche.

I had a long, nice chat with H. (Little Emma's grandmother) that would have driven most males strong, raving mad, I think. We've discussed kitchen appliances for almost half an hour. *g*

So yeah, busy day. I'd have loved to squeeze in some writing, too, but it clearly wasn't meant to happen. *sigh*

Oh well shopped! It is really satisfying when you find all the ingredients for something like that.

Indeed, it is. And the fact that I met a nice ex-colleague while standing in the queue was an added bonus.

Our covid cases are incredibly high over here too. Makes me frustrated.

Sometimes I have the feeling that it will never be over and our lives will never return to normal. *sigh*

You must post pictures of the cake when it's done. The Omicron wave is moving eastward, having peaked in my part of the world. Stay safe.

I'll try. But sometimes you just have to go out, whether you like it or not.

There will be pictures, assuming that cake will turn out cake-shaped. *g*

Sounds like a wonderfully busy day despite the lack of writing opportunity!

Oh, I'm always busy in these days. I don't think I've properly rested ever since last February when Mum had her accident.

True, but OTOH life has to go on... somehow.

Well done getting all the ingredients with a minimum of shopping around!
